Surgery
Our veterinary team at Tanglefoot Veterinary Services offer a variety of equine surgeries. This service involves the surgical treatment of horses to address various medical conditions, injuries, and abnormalities

Our large animal building houses a padded rubber room for injectable anesthetic procedures for ease of ‘knock-down’ and recovery of horses. In addition, this building houses an indoor stall with the capacity to provide IV fluid therapy as well as several outdoor stalls for patients while recovering from various procedures.
Here’s an overview of the types of equine surgery that we offer at our clinic:
- Soft Tissue Surgery: wound repair, tumor removal, skin biopsies, castration (gelding), hernia repair and eye removal.
- Hoof Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery: Bone sequestrums
- Dental Surgery: tooth extraction (wolf teeth, fractured teeth), and treatment of dental infections or injuries.
- Sinus surgery: sinus lavage
Monitoring under injectable anesthesia: Our equine veterinary technologists prepare the horses for surgery and monitor during the injectable anesthesia
