Medical Imaging
At Tanglefoot Veterinary Services, we are fortunate to have several forms of medical imaging available to our equine patients. These diagnostic tools help us visualize internal structures, organs, and bones that provide valuable information to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions and decide if referral is necessary for further treatment care.

Radiography (X-rays) is one of the most commonly used diagnostic tools inveterinary medicine. We have mobile Digital Radiography (DR) that permits high-quality images to be taken in the field.
We additionally utilize ultrasonography, which is particularly useful for imaging soft tissues, organs, and fluid-filled structures such as the abdomen, heart, reproductive organs, and tendons. We have a rectal ultrasound machine for in-field reproductive exams and an in-clinic machine for detailed abdomen and tendon evaluation.
We recently added endoscopy to our diagnostic tools, including both a 1meter and 3meter which has enabled invaluable diagnosis and treatment of the horses’ respiratory and gastric systems, thereby improving the horse’s quality of life and performance.
At Tanglefoot Veterinary Services we value our working relationships with partnering referral practices for our horse patients. Our qualified veterinarians are always willing to consult with a board-certified veterinarian to provide optimal care for your horse once acquiring the appropriate medical imaging.
